Pillow

See all the faces on t.v. Have yet to see one like me Tears fall like a willow I lay on my pillow and I wish my blue were green The sun sets I look to the sky A brave, handsome man was I Made a golden bed Here in my head It’s now a grave for he has died Drunken with vodka and beer I first saw your face my dear Tasting of cigarettes Heart full of innocence Angels and harps in my ear Life made an island of me No boat ever dared to come see So why did you bother to swim in this water It is a deep and treacherous sea So long have I waited to be free Released of the prison of me Share with somebody Laugh in the folly We like to call destiny I love you more than light and air I love your brown dreaded hair I love that you’re like me I have no need for t.v. For you my love are whom I send my care Light years away from me, why? Too upset and drowsy to cry We made gold history Here in this silver city It’s now a grave for you have died Back on this island I call home No boats, for again the sea rolls But here in my dreams I see you come to me What becomes of me when I wake I don’t know Why have you forsaken me Solitude again my mentality Tears fall like a willow I lay on my pillow and I wish my blue were green *** *** *** #nationalpoetrymonth "Life As A Boy: Poems" by Breeze Vincinz Available NOW on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Life-As-Boy-Breeze-Vincinz/dp/1693306018
