I didn’t know the walls were dirty Yet they had chips and cracks Grease stains of 12 years Home to 15 rats That thin layer of dirt and grime meant nothing at all to me The roaches that danced across the paint Didn’t seem to be unclean I drew on them, marked on them, beat on them Just about knocked them away But they were there before I was even born And they’re still there today We moved away awhile ago The walls inside I haven’t seen No...
